Sara Britcliffe will be scaling new heights to raise much-needed funds for repair work at a Hyndburn church.
She will be joined by the Dean of Blackburn Very Rev Peter Howell-Jones and 18 other brave people to abseil down Rishton Tower.
The sponsored event is taking place on Sunday, June 30, at St Peter and St Pauls Church in Hyndburn at 12.30pm.
Sara said: “This church is a landmark building in the history of the area.
“The tower is badly in need of repointing to stop water getting into the building.
“The water has already caused significant damage to the stones and rotted through the wooden floors.
“It is a real shame to see this damage to a wonderful building which has been part of the community.
“It will be great to have comfort in numbers with a group of people climbing down the church to raise money for such a good cause.
“I wanted to try to help save a part of our past.”
Currently the appeal has raised £1,006 of the £7,500 target.
On their Crowdfunder, it states that the money is for the tower, which is 'badly in need of repointing to stop water getting in to the building'.
"All money raised will help pay for the repairs to the tower to secure it for generations to come. Please sponsor them!"
Currently, the page has raised £135 out of their £7,500 target from 10 supporters, with 45 days left.
