On Friday the 20th of August I participated in a bike ride, to promote the benefits of cycling. 🚵
We then finished the bike ride with a great lunch at Cafe 88. Charities and partners who attended this event was: Connecting East Lancashire, Prospects Foundation, Pedal Away, Wheels for All and Love to Ride.
Connecting East Lancashire is a project funded by the Department for Transport with the main aims being reducing vehicles on the roads, helping the environment and getting people fitter and healthier through active travel.
The Prospects Foundation is Hyndburn’s environmental charity carrying out sustainable projects with local communities whilst also supporting improved health and wellbeing. All its projects are focussed around 6 Themes of Sustainability - improving biodiversity; reducing waste; increasing locally grown food; promoting sustainable transport; promoting energy conservation; and raising environmental awareness. Pedal Away is part of Cycling Projects, the national inclusive cycling charity. Pedal Away supports people from complete beginners to being an independent and confident cyclist.
Wheels for All uses adapted cycles and trained staff to enable disabled children and adults to cycle in a safe and fun environment. Details can be found by clicking on the links above or by emailing [email protected]

Love to Ride is a free platform where you register and log your bike rides to be in with a chance to win some fabulous prizes such as bike shop vouchers, clothing, workplace bike storage and lots more.
