In a significant development for Lancashire's infrastructure, Sara Britcliffe, MP for Hyndburn and Haslingden, has expressed her support for the £494million investment allocated to Lancashire announced today. This funding, part of the government's comprehensive plan to enhance regional connectivity and transport, marks a pivotal moment for local projects, including the much-anticipated options engineering/feasibility study at the Hare and Hounds Junction.
The investment underscores the government's commitment to "Levelling Up" the North and provides a solid foundation for addressing key infrastructure challenges in Lancashire. For the Hare and Hounds Junction, Ms Britcliffe is now seeking financial backing towards initiating a study aimed at identifying potential solutions to congestion problems.
The MP has written to Lancashire County Council and central government in recent months seeking support for the project, which she first officially raised with the council back in August 2022.
