See Sara's speech in the Queens Speech: Safer Streets For All debate. In her speech Sara welcomed Andrew Snowden into his new role as Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner before going on to outline two key areas in which the police need support.
In her opening remarks Sara said:
"Across Hyndburn and Haslingden, people want to feel safe when they go out. They want the streets to be secure and the police to be in their neighbourhoods tackling crime and protecting the public. That is why the Government are working through a legislative programme that is tough on criminals, keeps our streets safe and delivers on the public’s priorities."
Sara spoke of changes that need to be made to the police becoming self-funded through council tax and the Mental Health Act. You can hear more about those changes in the video above.
