Hyndburn and Haslingden MP Sara Britcliffe has today been announced the winner of the Parliamentarian ‘to watch’ award as leading communications group MHP announced its 2023 30 To Watch: Politics award winners.
The Parliamentarian award recognises public service, serving constituents & parliament, doing new, exciting things and extra work. After nominations close, the nominees are then judged by 13 cross party MPs, journalists, and businesspeople.
It marks off a busy year for the East Lancs MP, who has seen over £65million of investment enter her constituency from central government, secured the return of banking services to Great Harwood after a seven-year absence, and helped securing funding for Accrington Railway Station and ensure the current ticket office stays open.
Awarding agency, the MHP Group, search out the talent that looks set shape of politics into the future and then collate that information into their 30 To Watch: Politics awards. Aside from the parliamentarian award, there are also awards for health champions, advisers and commentators. This is the second year for our Politics awards, which were launched in 2022.
Commenting, Sara Britcliffe said:
I am totally surprised by this award, as I was not informed prior to winning as can sometimes be the case.
It is always nice to have your work recognised. I will always work hard to represent my constituents as their Member of Parliament, and fight for the area we all call home to get its fair share.
2023 has been a busy year and we have achieved so much, but we go again in 2024 to drive further positive change.
